Who Is Eligible
VFW membership is open to U.S. citizens and nationals who have served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces and who served overseas in a war, campaign, or expedition, or who have received a qualifying campaign medal or hostile-fire/imminent-danger pay.
Not sure whether you qualify? Many veterans are surprised to learn they do. Bring your DD-214 to a meeting, or check eligibility on the VFW National site.
New Members
Apply online through VFW National and choose Post 12248 as your Post, or fill out a paper application at any meeting.

Already a VFW member? Come to a meeting or contact the Quartermaster and we'll handle the transfer paperwork.

Family members of eligible veterans can join the VFW Auxiliary and support the Post's mission.
Interested?Dues
VFW dues are set by the National Convention. Post 12248 does not impose any additional dues.
Your dues of just $45.00 will cover the cost of your membership for a full calendar year. ($1.98 of your membership dues goes toward your VFW magazine subscription.)
You can become a VFW Life member by making a one-time payment, or you can pay for your Life membership through our installment plan with an initial $45 payment and the Life membership amount billed over an 11-month period.
